We will bring you closer to a large variety of species at two locations which are on the outskirts of Windhoek. The Avis Dam with an estimated 219 species of birds whilst the Gammams Clearage Waterworks boast with 195 different bird species. This is an excellent opportunity to start your birding holiday in Namibia or conclude your visit and obtain valuable information on Namibian bird species.
Marine Cruise: This morning tour is very popular with tourists as well as incentive / conference groups who visit the coast, as it shows them an area that the average visitor doesn't have access to. The entire cruise is done with ski boats in the protected lagoon area of Walvis Bay, where the water is calm and abundant with bird life. Entertainment is provided by two types of dolphins, a large seal colony at pelican point where some seals climb onto the boat for a fishy snack, and wonderful photographic opportunities of low-flying pelicans. To round off the trip you will be spoilt with fresh Walvis Bay oysters, snacks, and cold sparkling wine served on board the boat. Beer and soft drinks are also included.
Sandwich Harbour: The area is a part of the Namib Naukluft Park many have heard of but very few have ever visited. Giant sand dunes run straight into the ocean, creating breathtaking sceneries and a unique off road driving experience. Our land rovers take you to beautiful lookouts where you can feel the isolation Namibia and the Skeleton Coast are so famous for! The Sandwich Harbour Lagoon is the highlight of the Sandwich Harbour area. It is a large natural tidal lagoon, situated about 55km south of Walvis Bay. The lagoon is completely surrounded by large sand dunes, and is only accessible by 4x4 - even this relies largely on the tides. The Wildlife in Sandwich Harbour is highly specialized as there is no surface water around; most animals are very adapted to living on moisture obtained from the plants or fog which rolls in most evenings. Sandwich Harbour is a paradise for photography. A full day can be spent shooting the panoramic scenery which is constantly changing with the position of the sun. Few locations in the world can compete with the extreme contrasting environment of the desert meeting the ocean
